THE CHANGE - POLITICS #2

The Politics was a test in everyones mind, which made it difficult to decide to go with things better for the island than better for the party. Protests were on going, starting from the presidential election  followed by the days of Parliament election, and this situation of throwing out Adam Nasir from Thulusdhoo happend in the middle. After the Presidential Election, It was time to vote and elect Atoll councilors and island councilors by the new rules of decentralisation .

Thulusdhoo is the capital of Kaaf atoll which holds the Kaaf Atoll office in its arms. Due to the time taken to pass the rules of decentralisation because of disagreements each day in the Parliament, government appointed temporary councilors for both Atoll Councils and Island Councils.

During these times , the majority of the people were with the opposition party DRP in Thulusdhoo.  These were hard times for Thulusdhoo members of the ruling Party MDP because they were lesser in number in the island. Due to the lesser numbers of MDP members in Thulusdhoo, they were often targeted. Vandalism to MDP strongholds were becoming common. MDP members were often harassed. Politics moved people's minds off the track of unity because they go to extreme heights to support their party and ignoring what such actions would do to the future of the island.

A protest broke out in Thulusdhoo when former President and leader of DRP (at that time) was taken into Police Headquarters for questioning about Abuse of Power during his 30 year regime. The protesters demanded the Government-appointed temporary Atoll Councilor to leave Thulusdhoo and said that he or any other councilors of the Government would not be welcome in the island.

I wish i cud know who all behind planning this fire. Photos soon..
